I wanted to officially announce that Dark Soul Comics has stopped normal work on our comics. However, this doesn’t mean we won’t finish what we’ve started or bring new things to the table.
This change is taking place for several reasons.
It may be a really long time before this is updated again so I just wanted to give a heads up. If you have kept up with Gus or any other venture dealing with Unbounded Productions I would like to thank you very very much.
We’ve had to take some time off from DSComics, because of some business and personal things that came up. We should be back into the swing of things soon though.
By the time we get back to releasing content we should have most of the several scripts ready to be drawn. We hope we can put these out in a timely manner, but we never know what’s going to come up.
Anyway, I just wanted to give a quick update…
Due to the heat issues we have still not got any more work done on the comic. It’s simply too hot in the studio / office to stay in there long enough to do any real work.
This has also brought up another change in plans somewhat. While we want to release the comics as fast as possible we need to stay on track with our main business and all of the other sub-divisions. We’ve just made a major decision at Unbounded Productions that will affect everything. In the long run it may even help speed up the comic output, but we are not sure yet.
When the weather permits it we will be devoting at least an hour each day to the comic if at all possible. Unbounded Productions has a ton of other things to take care of right now, which unfortunately cuts deep into the comic creation time. I’m pretty sure after the first issue of Gus is finished we will end up taking a break long enough to get everything dealing with Unbounded Productions up and running correctly. That includes all subsidiaries, musical artist sites, artist sites, stores, and the actual workings of each project as well.
Again, it may be today or a few more days before the next panel of the comic is released. It’s reached over 100 the past two days in the studio, and I’m not sure when the temperature is supposed to drop down again.
Unfortunately our new panel will probably not be out tonight or maybe even tomorrow. We are having issues with high temperatures in our studio / office.
As soon as it cools off enough to get some work done we will be back though.
As you might know Dark Soul Comics started a long time ago under the name of MK Comics. Today we’ve been working on recovering and sorting through a lot of old data, scripts, and sketches.
We have been able to recover our main database of characters, which holds every bit of information we have on every character we’ve ever had. Unfortunatly we are unable to recover the individual databases for each comic book / script we had. However, we have not given up on recovering those databases yet. Over the next few days when we are not working on Gus, we will be converting all of our files to either new versions of Microsoft Works files or OpenOffice.org files. Our main goal is to create a file system of all of our data / information that’s easily accessable via several of our work computers.
We will be using the information we are going through to add more information about old comics, possible new or rekindled comics, and characters to the site.
Although, we feel the old sketches of characters are not good enough quality to use anymore, we will be going through them and adding a lot of them to the site. These sketches will be to show where the characters came from rather than showing them off. We are working on ideas of how to best archive the sketches and the data on the site.
Although, we will be getting a late start on working on the Gus comic tonight we should have it done and published sometime in the early morning, if not at midnight.
